Build an application kit

Select your materials, personalize them for a client, and copy or download one application package.

An application kit is a private selection of career materials for one role or client. It does not publish those materials or send an application.

Create a kit

  1. Open Career Vault → Application Kits and select Create my first kit,

or Create a kit if you already have one.

  1. Job details: enter the job title and, if known, the client or company.

The kit name is suggested automatically. Expand Change kit name to use your own name. You can leave these details blank and finish later.

  1. Choose materials: pick a resume and a saved cover letter. Your primary

resume, or your only resume, is selected to start; you can change or remove it. Expand Add work samples & other extras for portfolio work, certificates, links/videos, saved answers, and other uploaded files. Each type is optional.

  1. Review & save: fill any details your templates need and check the included

materials and live text preview. Job details fill matching client and role placeholders. Text version & private notes holds optional shorter or longer text versions and notes that stay private.

  1. Select Save & open kit. If no materials are selected or template details

are still blank, use Save draft and finish it later.

Use Back or the numbered steps to review an earlier choice. An unfinished kit in the same browser tab restores its entered details and current step.

The selections reuse your saved material. To choose a new asset, add it to its Career Vault category first. The material pickers link to those categories; return to Application Kits to continue your draft. More → Make a copy makes a kit you can adapt without changing the original. Cover Letters stores reusable templates; a kit chooses one and personalizes it for this opportunity.

Preview, copy, and download

Select Open kit, or save a new kit to open it automatically. Review the included materials and application text. Copy application text puts the assembled text on the clipboard.

Download kit (.zip) prepares application text and the selected uploaded files in one archive. Links remain links in the text. Private kit notes are excluded. No files are downloaded from external portfolio, video, or credential sites.

If a template changes, a kit using it picks up the new text the next time you open its preview. Review the package before sending it. Your submitted application record keeps the text captured when you recorded submission.

Resolve an incomplete kit

An empty kit or missing template details block copying, downloading, and opening the tracker from the kit. Select Finish kit to choose materials or fill each value, including placeholders inside selected samples.

If a selected asset was deleted or became unavailable, the preview lists the missing selection. Edit the kit to remove it or choose a replacement. A failed file download stops the export; retry after checking the file. Split a very large kit into smaller packages if it exceeds the export size limit.

Record what you sent

After sending the package yourself, choose Add to application tracker. It opens a new application with the kit, role, client, and Applied stage selected. Confirm the date and details before saving. This records your own activity; it does not submit anything to the client or platform.
